Headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, NVC Consulting helps individuals and organizations to think in new and better ways about the human factors impacting their lives and work through Spiral Dynamics training, programs, materials, and practical applications. Founded in 1998 as an outgrowth of the National Values Center, Inc. (started in 1978), NVC Consulting today operates in 11 countries on five continents and is led by co-founder Natasha Todorovic, with the support of international partners and an online Spiral Dynamics-trained coaching team. In addition to Spiral Dynamics consulting services and programs, NVC Consulting delivers in-depth certification and application training around the world, particularly focusing on Gravesian developmental theory and models.
Natasha Todorovic is co-founder of NVC Consulting. She consults, coaches and trains clients worldwide on use of the Spiral Dynamics tools, and models and approaches based on the bio-psychosocial development theory of Dr. Clare W. Graves.
Todorovic’s expertise includes consulting, training, and development at all levels of management. She has been working with Gravesian models since 1991 and has more than 20 years of experience in a broad range of positions and industries, including marketing in the high technology sector; retail and outside sales in products and services; consulting and training; and production, product development, marketing and merchandising in garment and textile manufacturing.
Todorovic earned a master’s degree in business administration from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, graduating with honors. She also holds a doctor of clinical hypnotherapy degree with a focus in accelerated learning, and is certified in the Adizes Methodology, a powerful corporate transformation process.
Todorovic is also co-editor, with NVC Consulting co-founder Chris Cowan, of Graves: Levels of Human Existence and The Never Ending Quest: Clare W. Graves Explores Human Nature. The Graves material was transferred to them in 2000. She is also co-author, with Chris Cowan, of The Human Spiral. She continues to develop Spiral Dynamics programs and course materials based on research and field testing.
NVC Consulting Co-Founder
The Legacy of Chris Cowan
Chris Cowan was the other co-founder of NVCC. His 1996 book Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership and Change, based on Dr. Clare W. Graves’ emergent cyclical levels of existence theory, helped popularize the term Spiral Dynamics and its applications to leadership and management. After Chris received his Master’s degree in speech communications from the University of North Texas in 1972, he joined the faculty there and taught communications, group dynamics and media in business. But his focus eventually shifted to the extension and application of Dr. Graves’ theory and models to the corporate setting. Over 10 years, Chris spent many hours with Dr. Graves in presentations and workshops, and left the NTSU faculty in 1981 to devote his energies to the application of Gravesian theory in organizations and government. Cowan continued to collaborate with Graves until Graves’ death in 1986. He developed the first Spiral Dynamics programs and tools during that period. Cowan first co-founded National Values Center Inc., in 1978 and then co-founded NVC Consulting with partner Natasha Todorovic in 1998, working to further Gravesian theory training and applications until his death in 2015.
